Hi, I’m Jennifer.
As you may have guessed — I am a composer.

I have been playing both the piano and violin since I was a wee 5 year old thanks to my mom who was insistent on my music lessons. Although at the time I wanted to either be an Olympic medalist ice skater, a horse jockey, or an illustrator when I grew up. What can I say—I loved my crayons, horses, and skates. Thankfully music was in my genes and I ended up loving it and pursuing it. And after years of study, practice, and performing, I now enjoy molding my own world of artistic expression and creation – otherwise known as composing.

Music is what I do, but who I am is a wife, mom, daughter, friend, and of course let’s not forget chocolate lover. I love to laugh and my friends and family will tell you that I am a goof. I’m addicted to BBC Classic movies. I am a klutz and can’t go a day without tripping or stubbing a toe. I grew up on an island and can tell you the name of pretty much any beach critter. I got straight A’s in English all through high school and college and considered being a writer. My all-time favorite dessert is the Nanaimo Bar. Google it. I am probably the most the organized messy person you will ever meet, but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my own music. I am a natural redhead. I believe in God. I love sparkly things. I enjoy people watching. Shopping at Costco is sometimes therapeutic for me. My closet consists of a plethora of concert dresses and flip-flops, and I don’t like wearing socks. Ever. My favorite piano is a Fazioli. I love to get dolled up, but on most days you can find me playing with my two adorable little red-headed boys or watching my husband run ultra-marathons like Forest Gump.

What I have learned is that life is there for the taking. We are the makers of our future (through hard work and dedication). I truly believe that any person can accomplish their life’s dream. You simply decide, and then you do. For me, my life’s dream was to become a concert pianist. Never did I imagine this dream would come about through performing my own composed works. And then to see and hear the response I get from people about my music – brings a tremendous amount of joy and satisfaction. I am one of the lucky few who can honestly say that I LOVE what I do, and hope to be doing this for years and years to come.
